Buying from Japan, delivering in British Columbia
We take orders from Japan every week. The checkout asks for two sets of details — the person paying and the person receiving — and confusing them is the only common mistake:
- Payer: name as on the card, postal code, prefecture, city and street address, postal code (〒) — in billing.
- Receiver: name, Canadian street address, city, BC, a postal code like V6B 1A1, and their own phone number — in delivery; the driver or courier rings the receiver.
- Sender line: your name goes on the greeting card, and the packing slip carries no prices.
Paying from Japan
PricesSet in Canadian dollars (CAD). The currency menu at the top of the store can show them in JPY — an estimate at the day's rate, for comparison only.
How it's chargedIn Canadian dollars, the full amount visible before you pay — gift, Canadian tax, delivery to the address. What appears in Japanese yen on your statement is your bank's conversion at its rate, sometimes with a fee the store doesn't control.
Payment methodsThe store shows Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB (2026-09-15). Japan-issued cards are fine; use the address the card is registered to.

When can it arrive?
Look up the BC address by the recipient's postal code: the live service behind the checkout answers with same-day or courier and a transit time.
Lower Mainland and Vancouver addresses are same-day when the order is in by 11:00 a.m. Pacific — free delivery over $100, otherwise $15.99–$19.99. Other BC addresses go by courier in one to three business days; order by 2 p.m. Pacific and checkout quotes the shipping.
When to order, on your own clock
Delivery runs on Pacific Time — the recipient's clock in British Columbia. Same-day hand delivery across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland needs the order by 11:00 a.m. Pacific on the delivery day, seven days a week (businesses no later than 5 p.m., homes no later than 9 p.m.); courier orders to the rest of BC ship the same day when placed by 2 p.m. Pacific, Monday to Friday, and arrive in one to three business days. The card, the label and the language
Japan's language is Japanese; our store, checkout and delivery labels are English.
- On the card: any language in Latin letters, printed as you wrote it. A message in Japanese (kanji, hiragana, katakana) has not been tested through this store's card-printing path, so write it in Latin letters (a transliteration is fine).
- On the billing form: your name and address as your bank spells them, Latin letters.
- On the delivery label: the recipient's name and Canadian address in Latin letters — the courier reads English, and other scripts can't be checked at the door.
- On the phone: the recipient's Canadian number, area code first, in the delivery fields; your number may carry Japan's country code.

The store's Order Tracking page wants the email address you ordered with and the postal code on the order. An order placed minutes ago can take a little while to show; if it stays missing, give support the order number from your confirmation.

Alcohol
Wine, champagne, beer and spirits go anywhere in BC as long as the recipient is 19 or over, the province's legal drinking age. A driver or courier will only hand alcohol to a person 19+ with photo ID, never leaves it unattended, and a courier requires an adult's signature; with nobody of age at home, delivery is re-attempted or the parcel is held. The store also stocks kosher wine and alcohol-free gourmet ranges.
Answers for a sender in Japan
Will a Japan bank card work?
It will. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB are all taken with a Japanese billing address; you're charged in CAD and your bank does the conversion.
Could the recipient get a bill for customs or delivery?
No — there's no border crossing, so no customs, duty or import fee. Delivery is free on orders over $100 in the same-day zone, and courier shipping is charged to you at checkout.
What's the same-day deadline?
11:00 a.m. Pacific on the day itself, for Vancouver and Lower Mainland addresses — the table above gives it in Japan time. Other BC addresses: order by 2 p.m. Pacific and it ships that day, arriving in one to three business days.
How much is that in Japanese yen?
Checkout shows the full CAD figure (gift, Canadian tax, delivery) before payment; the JPY equivalent is whatever your bank's rate makes it. The currency menu on the store is only a rough guide.
How do I pick the arrival date?
Select the day it should land at the recipient's address, reckoned in Pacific time. Past 11 a.m. in Vancouver, the earliest same-day option is the next day.
