How a the UAE order reaches a BC address
Nothing about a the UAE order is unusual to us; the only slip we ever see is the buyer's details typed where the recipient's belong:
- Billing fields: the cardholder's name as printed, the street address, area and emirate — most addresses have no postal code, the P.O. Box or area (no postal code) — all yours.
- Delivery fields: everything about the recipient — name, Canadian street address, city, BC, postal code in the V6B 1A1 form, and their telephone, which is what the driver or courier will use.
- Greeting card: signed with your name so they know who sent it; the packing slip is priceless in the literal sense — no amounts printed.
What a the UAE card is charged
The price tagEvery price is CAD. The switcher covers USD, GBP, EUR, AUD and JPY only, not UAE dirhams; treat the CAD number as the real one.
On your statementThe transaction is in Canadian dollars: gift, Canadian tax and the delivery fee for the recipient's address, shown up front. Conversion to UAE dirhams — and any charge for it — is your bank's, at a rate the store neither sets nor sees.
Card typesVisa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB (the store's listed marks, 2026-09-15). A the UAE card is accepted; give the billing address your bank holds.
ExcludedImport fees, duty and customs — none, since nothing is shipped across a border. The recipient is not asked to pay.
Is their address covered?
Type the recipient's Canadian postal code (not your own). The reply is the checkout's own delivery system: whether the address is same-day or courier, and how many days.
Lower Mainland and Vancouver addresses are same-day when the order is in by 11:00 a.m. Pacific — free delivery over $100, otherwise $15.99–$19.99. Other BC addresses go by courier in one to three business days; order by 2 p.m. Pacific and checkout quotes the shipping.
Order deadlines, where you are
Everything is timed on Pacific Time, which is what the recipient in BC lives on. For same-day hand delivery in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland the order must be in by 11:00 a.m. Pacific on the day (any day of the week; workplaces get it no later than 5 p.m., homes no later than 9 p.m.). Courier orders for the rest of the province go out the same day if placed by 2 p.m. Pacific on a weekday and take one to three business days. Here is what those cut-offs are for September 17, 2026:

Clock changes in the UAE or in BC alter the offset by an hour; the table is fixed to the date above, the line under it is live. The delivery date you choose at checkout is the recipient's, on the Pacific calendar — once Vancouver has passed 11 a.m., the soonest same-day date is tomorrow. No deliveries on Sep 30, Oct 12, Nov 11, Dec 25, Dec 26, Jan 1.
Alphabets: the card and the label
Arabic and English are spoken in the UAE; the store and checkout are in English.
- On the card: any language in Latin letters, printed as you wrote it. A message in Arabic has not been tested through this store's card-printing path, so write it in Latin letters (a transliteration is fine).
- On the billing form: your name and address as your bank spells them, Latin letters.
- On the delivery label: the recipient's name and Canadian address in Latin letters — the courier reads English, and other scripts can't be checked at the door.
- On the phone: the recipient's Canadian number, area code first, in the delivery fields; your number may carry the UAE's country code.

You can send wine, champagne, beer or spirits to any address in BC provided the recipient is 19 or older — the legal drinking age here. Handover is to a person 19+ with photo ID only; the gift is never left unattended; couriers take an adult signature; and if no adult is home the delivery is re-attempted or held. Alcohol-free gourmet ranges and kosher wine are stocked.

Will a the UAE bank card work?
It will. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and JCB are all taken with a Emirati billing address; you're charged in CAD and your bank does the conversion.
Could the recipient get a bill for customs or delivery?
No — there's no border crossing, so no customs, duty or import fee. Delivery is free on orders over $100 in the same-day zone, and courier shipping is charged to you at checkout.
What's the same-day deadline?
11:00 a.m. Pacific on the day itself, for Vancouver and Lower Mainland addresses — the table above gives it in the UAE time. Other BC addresses: order by 2 p.m. Pacific and it ships that day, arriving in one to three business days.
Are wine and champagne deliverable?
Yes — to anyone 19 or over. Photo ID is checked on handover, and alcohol is never left unattended.
What happens if the door isn't answered?
The driver finds a safe place or a neighbour and messages the recipient; couriers may also leave it safely. A gift containing alcohol is re-attempted or held instead.
